Hello everyone,
I have hit a wall at installing the valley pan in my 351C. I don't know the order on which I need to do this installation.
-Paper gaskets on heads and then the valley pan? or
-Valley pan on heads and then the paper gaskets between the valley pan and Intake manifold?
I've got an edelbrock performer: EDL-2665
I got Fel pro Valley pan: FEL-MS96012 (paper gaskets for the sides and rubber for the front and back)
Please help!!!!
Thanks
I put one under an Edelbrock intake and I used a new intake to heads gasket. I cut off the part of the old valley pan that was against the heads, and just left the two ends there to hold it in place. I just used a lot of sealer on the ends, no rubber. Then I used two new individual head to intake gaskets.
Do a search here and you will find a lot of good info about this. Search for turkey pan and bath tub too.
Thanks, it appears that most people prefer to do that, since I've run into a couple of posts explaining the same thing you did.
Problem is I already got the valley pan gasket kit and getting a head to intake gasket that'll do what you described will take me forever, because I live overseas, and there are no parts for clevelands.
That's the reason why I wanted to install it the way it's meant to be.
No luck finding any other info regarding this installation.
