For all y'all that are in Middle Tennessee or traveling to or thru be careful. It must be quota time for the troopers and the local fuzz. My girlfriend saw one trooper have a car pulled over, then zoomed up behind her(she was driving her brother's camaro doing the speed limit but apparently he didn't renew his tags) stopped her and as soon as he got done with her, he was off and she passed him later with someone else stopped. This was yesterday, so all y'all that are traveling 65 becareful.
i noticed that as well on I24 heading into nashville from clarksville saturday.
as well as I24 from the KY line to about cadiz. ky, exit 65....lots of comm vehicle police too. which means alot to me, i was driving a straight truck pulling a goosneck with airbrakes....and i am 19 if you get what i am sayin....so i was on the look out...well if they would of asked about why i have no licence i would of pulled the farm card.....which is half true

Yea that could be a hefty fine if you don't watch out.
They are all over I24, I40, I65, and even I440. I passed a sle of em outside Percey Preist Damm lined up like cabs at the airport. 2 gunning, the rest chasing. My Radar detector was non stop yelling at me all the way to Lebanon.
The only place that I haven't seen them hardly at all(unless they are there at times that I am not) is on 840. Which is good, because I love that piece of interstate a little too much.
Tex, me too. When I lived in Franklin I would hop on my scoot and ride over to Murfreesboro..nice stretch of road there.
Oh yea, did that stretch 4 times today. I wish they would get the entire 840 done as that would cut off a good hour on my drive when I go back home to visit. Unfortunately I know the guy that's been the thorn on that construction(married my vet).
I never used a detector either. Dad had them up until he started getting the luxury cars and back in the day those were way to sensitive and they were always hollaring at you. Having had that kind of experiance growing up, it soured me on the whole radar thing and even with the unmarked cars, if you not what to look for you'll be alright, they all have certain characteristics that make them stick out as cop cars(be it the crown vics or the SUVs), they just "look" like they are a cop car.
The reality is exept Virginai and DC, (Virginia os probably going to have to overturn it) they are legal. As long as the goverment chooses to survail me, I have the right to know.
I use an Escort 8500 and 9500 in ym vehichles, and man, they have come a long way. there ar still some false postives, but by far less than sued to be back in the day.
I am usually not speeding, but at times (like suring rush hour) do the speed of flow to be as safe as I can be. Even though speed pf flow is what was taught for years and years for safety, especially in merging and lane change situations, cops will hand out tickets. the other reason is that tickets are not handed out in an unbiased situation, especially when radar is employed. WHt I would get a ticket versus the 20 folks who passed me within 2 mintues wh were going 10mph faster can never be answered.
I have also gotten a ticket when I was not speeding, but a vhicle beside me was. Up to 20% of tickets issues by radar are in error, and usually error of the user (in this case the patrolman). The technology is sophisticated enough now to be sekf checking and sekf calobrating, so he arguments of the early 1990's are moot, but a radard gun cannot distinguish between 2 or more vehicles. It can report 2 vehicles at the same time, but not which vehicle is doing what speed. The large vehcile (usually our trucks) have the strngest signature, and most cops automatically ticket what is visibly larger unless they can really sense who's faster.
My detector tells me via GPS how fast I was fgoing when activated (as does my Garmin), so I have 3 different sources to argue my pointif I was indeed obeying the law.
