Thing is, the cars look good, i/e not like junked cars, so almost looks like a transporter made for the job.

The truck is actually called a DeArco. I copied some images from an eBay auction a couple of years ago but lost them when my computer crashed. Oldcarsweekly did an article about these trucks a couple of years ago:
