im trying to change the passenger side maifold on a 1997 f250 7.5l and there is a tube with 2 bolts holding it in at the back of the manifold and i dont know what the tube does do i need it please help
The air pump on the motor pumps air into the manifolds and the cat. converter to reduce emissions. I have both sides of my exhaust manifolds blocked and the vanes removed from the air pump. Truck runs great. It all hinges on your local emission testing. You might need to leave it hooked up to pass an emission inspection.
is there still a catalytic convertor for those years?,in the motorhome chassis with the 460 there was no more catalytic from 94-98 up,,be careful you don't break any ex -manifold bolts, they snap easy
I actually had to replace my heads from the ex. manifold bolt breakage issue. The mounting holes just crumbled away. I do believe the trucks still have a converter.
yeah it still does i fixed the problem manifold bolts cam eout easy!!!!! let wd 40 sit on the bolts all night then just fired the motor up for a minute just to let the block heat up and they came out with no problems
