I am told it is a Holley double pumper but I cant figure out what model it is. I want to rebuild it but all the listing I found has 1400s numbers and I cant find that. The number I found are LIST-1850-3008 any know which carb this is?
So does this mean its a 600 cfm holley double pumper 4160? Also on the primaries butterflys it is stamp 109 and 313 and the secoundaries what does this mean they look to be the same size. I was told it was a 850 but the numbers you gaves show 600 could the be a cob togather carb? The butterflies are way huge compared to the 750 eldebrock I had.
If you fully open the primary's and the secondary's open then it is a double pumper. A vacuum seconday carb would have a piece mounted on the side that opens the secondaries under certain engine loads.
Yeah it has a secoundary vacume so duoble pumpers didnt have that. This is sounding better already. I want a good holley for my truck but a 850 double pumper just seemed to big for a 390 so a 600 I think would be great compared to the stock 2 barrel I got on it now. Sounds like the guy didnt know what he was talking about when he said what it was.
Okay so which kits is better from summitracing the rebuild kit or the Trick kit. I want to optimize my fuel economy which I know wont be much and I want the carburator to last. Money is a concern but I want all the parts I need too. will the rebuild come with everything that goes out on the carb? or do I need to upgrade to the trick kit? Yeah I am thinking about finding a stock 390 or going with a Edlebrock
You can check on the holley site to see what kit it takes. There are generally two different kits. One has everything you need and then some and the other doesn't have as much in it but if I recall correctly it has all the gaskets and such you would need. The 1850 kit is readily available and very common carb. The price is a liitle cheaper because there was some many carbs out there.
You may want to check on amazon once you find the kit number. The kit I got for my holley was considerably cheaper than what I could get anywhere else.
If I can find my holley book it has the kit numbers in it and post what it is.
Which intake will be a topic if I dont find what I am looking for in the seach. But you guys have help again on finding what I need I have been dabating on wether or not to keep the 2 barrel but after reading several post looks like I could get just as good or better milage out of a 4 barrel as long and I keep my foot out of it. The carb works fine but just rebuilding whole truck as I go through it. For me its a hobby and passion to my wife it is ENEMY #1. Thanks again guys
