I've been wanting add dual exhausts to my truck since I bought it. Although, right before I bought the truck, the previous owner installed a brand new Jegs 4inch from down pipe back single exhaust system. I wanted to do the extreme look where the pipes exit right behind the rear wheels on both sides.
Has anyone ran another pipe from a single to a dual? How and where did you tie in the second pipe into the single.. using a Y pipe? If anyone has any ideas or has done this before, I'd like some input. I have a good idea of what I think can be done but was wondering what everyone elses thoughts are.
Also, on this Jegs exhaust system, I see there is a round canister along the straight pipe towards the rear. It really doesn't look like a muffler as I've seen the stock ones.... looks more like a glass pack, etc. Its about 5 inches in diameter... any idea of what it is or is this an aftermarket muffler possibly?
Lastly, for my 4 inch pipes, should I go with a 5 or 6 inch slash rolled edge tip?
I have the MBRP 4" cool duals on mine with 5" tips you might be able to buy just the tail pipes and a ypipe from them or one of the other companys that have duals. That canister is a muffler I would eliminate that and let sound GOOD.

Dave, can those be tilted up more, so's to be a little more level versus angled down so severely?
I'll have to contact some of the companys that sell the duals and see if I can just buy the left side tail pipe and Y. As far as the muffler goes, I wasn't sure if that was a muffler or not. Seemed kinda small to me.. its literally 1 inch larger than the 4in exhaust. The truck is already pretty loud as it is, if I can get it even louder.. I'm down for that! It looks like the muffler was welded in.. did you just cut yours and replace it with a 4 inch piece with clamps or weld it in?
My ypipe was part of my muffler so I cut it off and had to weld to the muffler end of the y to size it down to the 4" . Since then I have seen seperate ypipes and muffler delete pipes . My system has almost all band clamps on it the same kind that are used on big rigs. You may have to get both tail pipes because the left one may not hit the ypipe right it is tight in there when you get 2 4" pipes stacked on top of each other .
Thanks, yeah they were a must with the height of my truck and the tinted lenses.
Put them on my 07 too.....real nice to flip on when I'm working late and have to close the gate at the entrance to our shop, work on stuff, hook up trailers, etc..
Did you hardwire those back up lights into the tail lights or do you have a switch from the inside controlling the lights? Thats pretty nice, I bought a set of lights for backing up also. With my lift, its hard to see anything behind me in the dark.
In auto they come on with the reverse, on is just on, off is off.
With my 01 I have a rear view camera in the bumper so the lights help out a lot with that. I have 2 layers of 5% tint on the rear glass so looking in the rearview is pointless.

Where do I send my bumper?
I'm gonna need you to do the same little trick as the front, too. So, where do I send my bumpers?
Forgot you did this until I looked through your gallery and remembered the foglights in the front bumper... SICK!
I just looked through my gallery here to see what pics I have (I tried to upload pics last month and my browser kept freezing)........some old pics here, back when I rocked chrome and had it covered in salt
Yeah, I've been known to fab a bumper or two in my day
