p01116 engine code

p01116 engine code
I have a 00 ranger 4x4 4.0. It was throwing a p01116 code. I replace what I thougt was a engine temp sensor, plus a new thremostat. After 76 miles it came back on. There are two sensors on the intake. One has a dual wire and the other a single wire. I replaced the dual wire. I cant seem to find out what the single wire sensor is. One more thing im not running any cats on my truck, I have heard diffrent stories about this. Thanks for any help you can give me.

P1116 ECT Sensor Out Of Range (Ford, Mazda)
Well, having scanner read OBD Data (actual values). I think you will see strange temperature. So check connector for corrosion, wiering ore sensor...
