Well that figures to @ $4 per tank. I guess I'll keep with my $1.50 per tank 2 stroke oil for now and hope for the best. Hopefully they will start selling a bio-blend in my area and then I'll switch to that.
So, If you run 100% B-20 then you don't need to add any additives for extra lubricity (sp)?? so you could afford to pay .10 to .20 more per gallon for it over dino diesel (I've been buying DK @ Autozone for 8.-9. per 32oz bottle.
If you paid just .10 more per gallon for B-20 that would be only $3.80 more for a full tank, and @.20 more per gallon it would be $7.60 for a full tank @38 gallons--still cheaper than dino w/DK???? do any of you that run B-20 get better fuel mileage with it over dino, and IS your engine really quieter like some say??
Supercab 100% bio has a lower BTU than dino diesel so fuel mileage may be a little lower than the dino. I run only up to B20 for this reason, been running B5 this winter for lube i also mix DIPETANE which is a great lubricate. truck get's 17.4 mpg in winter 18.6 most of time in summer.
Just bought my first diesel (as a daily driver) and trying to learn more about maintaining it. Are there any issues with running any of these additives to the 2006 6.0's? Also I heard not to run any bio diesel thru it and only use low sulfer fuel. With the newer emmisions on the newer trucks I don't want to screw the thing up. Any input on it?
