Possible Cracked Block PLEASE HELP!!!

Two months ago the truck started to lose coolant. I took it to the mechanic, and since then have had the following done... Heads removed and pressure checked, checked out ok. New head gaskets, new oil cooler. Front cover has been removed due to cavitation, and replaced, new gaskets and sealant on it and the oil pan. Cylinders and pistons check visually for any flaws or cavitation. New soft plug in block, and in one head. New ccv doghouse(thanks to ernesteugene), and ccv set back up in stock formation. I think that is everything. I am still getting oil in the coolant, and the mechanic thinks it is a cracked block. Is there any way to check the block, without pulling the motor, for cracks. It looked good visually when it was out while doing the front cover replacement. Any other ideas on what this might be. Pretty much down to last resorts. PLEASE HELP!!!

How much oil are you talking about? Might want to do a good coolant flush to get leftover oil out and try check it again. It could be some oil left in system. A little oil will look like a bunch.

Bad injector cups cause fuel in coolant? Right? I would flush again before tearing anything else apart.

yes, bad injector cups cause fuel in the coolant. sometimes the fuel in the coolant can be mistaken for oil because it looks dark. smell it and you will be able to tell.

also, if im not mistaken, if you have oil in your coolant reservoir, your oil cooler could be leaking. someone correct me if i am wrong.

good luck

I agree with Dan and Chris. On first read, injector cup and split injector oring came to mind.

Nhill2090 the original post lists a new oil cooler as one of the things replaced.

The oil cooler has been replaced. Perhaps I stated it incorrectly in the original post. There is coolant in the oil, not fuel in the coolant, or oil in the coolant reservoir. When I pull the dipstick the oil level is elevated above the fill line. when checked after filling of the oil it is at the proper level and looks like normal oil. Now the oil level is high, and the oil looks milky. Hopefully this is a better description. Please view some of my other posts about CCV, and Burnig coolant to see the whole story.

When you had the work done, did they pressurize the coolant system to check for leaks, or just do a visual check for additional cavitation? How many miles are on the truck, and have you ever changed the coolant?

Coolant in the oil and having done all this work, I think cracked block too.
All the oil is higher pressure than the coolant so it has to be coming out somewhere else than the cups or the cooler.

for an 03, i hope you dont have alot of miles, try giving customer service a call, cracked blocks are not common failures nor are injector cups, however the cups are more likly the culprit then the block. either way a call to ford customer service may yield further warrenty coverage or a partial ford payment on repairs

According to Ford there is a five year 100,000 mile warranty, and with only 93,000 miles I should be good to go. My only hesitation with the warranty work is it has to be done at a dealer. And if they find something else along the way that isn't warrantied then I will have to pay for the repair anyway. I feel pretty confident that it is a cracked block, but there is still a doubt in my mind it may be something else. Is there such a thing as a prorated warranty since i am so close to being at maturity with the miles? One mechanic today told me they may want to prorate the warranty and I may still end up paying 30% or something. Is this possible, it seems to me that if it is a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty then it should cover it fully. And Thanks for all the help.

I think you will just have to pay the $100 deductible IIRC.
