According to Ford there is a five year 100,000 mile warranty, and with only 93,000 miles I should be good to go. My only hesitation with the warranty work is it has to be done at a dealer. And if they find something else along the way that isn't warrantied then I will have to pay for the repair anyway. I feel pretty confident that it is a cracked block, but there is still a doubt in my mind it may be something else. Is there such a thing as a prorated warranty since i am so close to being at maturity with the miles? One mechanic today told me they may want to prorate the warranty and I may still end up paying 30% or something. Is this possible, it seems to me that if it is a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty then it should cover it fully. And Thanks for all the help.
It all depends on Inservice date at this point. If your still within 5 yrs of the inservice date of the truck, and less than 100K(which you are) then you should get by with the $100 deductable.
in first post it is oil in coolant and that is one thing, but then you said coolant in oil they are not same problem most of the time. in most cases water in oil head or gasket prob And oil in water cooler failure. i saw you have had heads checked and new oil cooler . would like to know where they are mixing also have you checked to see if you are building PSI at rad cap as soon as you start truck with gauge? i could have missed something in your post but i re read an just was not sure.
There is only coolant in the oil no oil in the coolant. Sorry for any confusion. On a worse note, the warranty work has been declined because of the CCV Mod, DP Tuner, and whatever other mods they deemed appropriate. What a SH**TY few months.
Don't know if this makes you feel any better or not, but I DO have a cracked block on mine. I did have the same symptoms as what you are describing, but mine was a much faster leak I think. As in, we started it up, and could see a drop in the degas bottle before it was even warmed up. I'll let you know what I end up doing. I'm debating a salvage block, new block, new short block, salvage engine, or rebuilt engine right now. We'll see what happens.
