Temp and Fuel Guages

Temp and Fuel Guages
I have a 2000 Excursion with 6.8L. About two months ago the outside temperature gauge in the overhead message center and the fuel gauge in the dash started malfunctioning. The fuel gauge is stuck on full and the outside temperature gauge reads about 40 degrees less than it really is. For example according to the gauge the air temp outside is 42 degrees but I know it is at least 85 to 90 degrees.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Are these two gauges linked by a common fuse or relay? <o></o>

Just before these gauges started malfunctioning I had a tie rod replaced on the vehicle. I really do not understand how this could be linked to the problems so think it is a coincidence.<o></o>

Any ideas?<o></o>

Thanks<o></o>
