code 27 on my airbag

code 27 on my airbag

my 03'f-250 reg cab is bring up a code 27
is it for the passenger air back on/off light? it doesnt come on when i turn the key to on, nor when i turn it off.
could it have come unplugged?

no, the bulb in it has burned out. I took the module apart and replaced mine with a 12v diode for less than $2.00 and about 15 minutes time. Just takes a soldering iron to heat up the solder to get the bulb out and the diode in.

Code 27 indicates the passenger airbag is disabled. Does it still flash 27 when the key switch is on? If so, something may be disconnected.

yeah as soon as you turn the key on, or at least start it, it flashes the code like 3 or 4 times, then the airbag light just stays on. the off like for the passenger side doesnt come on no matter what i do

But if the passenger side airbag switch is turned on does it still flash the code?

Replace the bulb in the PAD assembly. It's burned out.

if you install an led you will need to install a resistor as well. The parts can bbe had at radio shack like nz said. If you screw it up powestrokeshop.com sells the part for like $50
