go to local auto store that has both in stock and compare them.
trying to make the wrong year stuff fit your year is a road to nowhere.
You realize this is the definition of HotRodding right? He is far better off figuring out how to make different factory parts work than going fancy aftermarket.
Take my nova for example, i wanted better brakes but didnt want to do brembo or wilwood. Why? Well, if i have a problem then i have to order and wait who knows how long. So what did i do? Research. And found that if i used 74 to 81 buick station wagon NON towing package front steering knuckles ( they share the novas ball joint spacing and size) i can then use 82 to 87 camaro/firebird rotors and calipers to gain 1.5 inches of rotor diameter. And still fit behind the factory 14s. Rears are bolt on factory 1998 4x4 Blazer rear discs from the tubes out. With a 1979 Corvette 4 wheel disc proportion valve to control everything.
That way if oh no i had a caliper stick and cooked a pad... autozone i need a 198x Camaro caliper and pad set. Change in the lot and go...
Or closer to the forum. Whatever the goofy split is for the 9th gens on hub bearings after april of 95. I just use all pre-94 stuff from spindle to lockout on my 95 to avoid the question at the part store.
Edit.
Damn.... after all that, it is a zombie thread.
Need more coffee before replying.
Admins. Can you add a " I have had at least 3 cups of coffee " button. Before allowing posts? Lol
Not only that, but said individual told the FTE world what they could all do after being given a vacation after several mod warnings to stop being combative rectal orifice.
BUT, what if you transferred the rotor AND caliper from the older vehicle to the newer vehicle? THEN it should work, shouldn't it? Sorry to be late to the party but today I saw a BRAND NEW set of front rotors and calipers on a 1986 F-150 2WD in the junkyard and I need new front rotors and calipers on my 1994 F-150 2WD.
Just go get, with the understanding, that maybe he hotrodded his, wouldn't think so...but...(welcome to FTE!)
My 94 ext cab is bad for warping rotors.so I used. Set from 88 because the the thickness difference is in the middle 88 has wider slot And fins.so bran new pads I had to take a wire brush to inside of the calipers and they work fine.no more warping rotors Everytime I pull a camper or trailer they will go on just tight at first with new pads like thickness of peice paper to much.no bigs they work.
