I'm supposed to be changing the ICP sensor out on my E-350 van. The sensor I bought on E-bay is a genuine ford part, but doesn't really look like the one I pulled out. Everyone told me that i'm going to need a 1" deepwell socket, but the one I pulled out took a 5/8" wrench. I'm thinking that this might be a aftermarket sensor and that's why it's bad. I just want to make sure I didn't pull the wrong sensor. When it came out oil started coming out of the hole. Is that right? This isn't a oil press sensor is it? Here are some pics. Thanks ahead of time!!
yeah i couldn't see any other sensor that looked like the new oem sensor. If your looking at the front of the motor it was just below the right side valve cover pretty close to the front of the motor. It was right by the engine lifting eye. I had to remove it to get a wrench on it.
Yep, you got it. In the engine valley, on the front of the driver's side head. Your stock one looks exactly like the stock one I just replaced on my 2000.
Hey, thanks man for the info!! Now i sit and wait for the new sensor to arrive. I bought it off some guy from ebay, but he won't get back with me to let me know whats up. I accidently had my old address listed in my paypal account so I don't know if he ever got me dam e-mail to send it up here to Wi. Needless to say I might be waiting awhile.
Put old sensor back in while truck is waiting on new sensor, otherwise the oil galley will leak all the way down, and you will have a lot of air to purge.
