I'd say by now, most of the oil that's going to leak out has already done so. I would still put the sensor back in until the new one arrives though, to keep any kind of debris out of the HPO rails. The oil in those rails goes straight to the injectors, and if a foreign piece of material got in there it could potentially take out an injector.
