i am putting a 351c with 4v heads into my 81 ford 3/4 ton,but i need too know if my hedders off of my 400 will fit if not is there any that will fit need to know asap.thanks mike
No Your 2V headers will not fit the 4V heads on your 351C.
You might be able to get a set of headers off a Mustang to fit, But your more then likely going to have to build your own set.
Contact Headdmen Headers they have a (you weld it yourself header set)for a BBC that they'll send you the 351C 4V flange for and with a little work well make a nice set of Wheelwell headers. I know I used them on ShaZam.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 02-Jan-03 AT 07:47 PM (EST)]i found out that my 400 isn't a 400 it is a 351m does this make a differance if the headers will fit the 4v heads on my 351c.
I put 4v cast iron manifolds off a 70 torino GT on a 351c 4v that i built for a 79 150 2wd..made about 425 horse at 7000..so they are ok for a stet motor, not for racing..did have to make a small nitch in the upper frame rail though for it to work.
Wow!! 800 ponys from a 400..incredible!! using motorsport heads or which ones? I did that with a 429 for one of my trucks and was disappointed in the horsepower(torque was good)I used ported P.I.heads off a 69 police engine.maybe wrong cam choice I'm thinking..The 351 4v C i had in same truck would eat it for lunch easily once it hit 5000 rpm.Break a set of 12.50,s loose when it #####ed to second(fmx tranny)very easily at will.even with locker in rear..FUN!!
