Yeah, Mine was up and running the next day with help from Edge. I am sorry you are having problems. PM me and I'll try and get you hooked up with the guy I worked with...I think I have his direct #.

That's a little harsh, Joe. I am just using what I got already. Kinda like the "superchip that does me fine for now"...

When my truck was down, the guy that came to my rescue may have been involved in developing both your chip and my tuner. He may just know his stuff. I don't know yet. I am willing to give him a shot. Because he helped me out of a jam. I am definitely not pimping Edge...my truck should have never been down. We'll see how it works out...

BTW, what's your first hand experience with an Edge product that forms your opinion?

I am still learning. Thanks for the lesson.

I know you have an Evo, too...Todd. Yes and based on the opinions around this forum, as expert as they are (not joking), Wildman or Jody should have the market cornered on making our trucks what we want them to be...The guy doing my new tunes helped me get my truck back on the road...not Tony and not Jody. I am gonna see what he can come up with...I will be honest in my assessment.

Its too bad you dont have a tw chip to compare it too. But atleast you can do your 0 to 60 and such, that might even be more acureate yet. Your the only reason that I havent ordered yet.

my opinions on edge come from working at the ford dealer as a diesel technician, i have lots of experiance with edge and banks, our dealer was an installer. every single edge programmed truck had issues, all of the 6.0 trucks wouldnt shift for crap, several 7.3's had pcm issues simliar to the one stated in this post. how can brand new trucks come with defective pcm's? maybe one here or there but numerous defectives, sorry its the product not the pcm, i had countles 6.0's come in with melted injector tips and mangled pistons, egt's are throug h the roof with edge, i had many 7.3's with injector issues' but not as much as with the 6.0's. had a couple 7.3's with fried pcm's that were not locked, just fried. had 2 that came up as mercury mondeo's when you hooked up with scan tools..... those were real winners. i could go on and on about how bad edge is with many stories to tell of horrific test drives and po'd customers. (some threatening with baseball bats) oh yes, edge is an ugly mess.

the banks kits were virtualy problem free on 7.3 trucks, had 1 wire harness that had an open circuit, they replaced freee of charge and payed my diag and labor fee. had another that kept throwing bogus check engine lights and it turned out to be theire module (replaced free as well and covered labor)
the banks kits on 6.0's were another story. lots of blown headgaskets, lots of melted injectors, lots of blown tranny's(not nearly as many as edge) lots of grenaded turbo's
2 grenaded motors(and i mean grenaded!!!!)

the ones i used mostly where the inline boxes.
this one was the most common- http://www.edgeproducts.com/categori...+with+Attitude
i also used the download tuners, but those had the pcm lock-up and egt meltdowns.

no, none of the chips on a 7.3 are idm related, the edge evo for the 94-97's should be the tuner-ie download to the pcm through the data port under your glovebox

lol, breakin a sweat there? dont worry, just make sure the connection is good when you go to reprogram and keep your fingers crossed. get gauges to moniter temps and keep an eye on the tranny for quirks, it wont effect the e4Od like it does the 5r110, it does change pressures and shifts so just watch for any issues before they develop.
