Does anyone know if I can purchase only the small blue retaining coupling for the fuel line. The line goes from the gas tank to the fuel filter? 2004 F150 4x4 Supercrew. The dealership is telling me to buy the whole fuel line from the tank to the filter to get this piece. You use a screw driver to unlock the coupling, then push down and pull off.
Samuel- you dealership is wrong. The blue clips are now a service item. He can get you them for $9/piece. Cheaper than the entire lines. I just had to get a new one as well when I replaced my fuel filter. Search for fuel filter and there's a nice thread about changing them. You can reuse the clips if you do it right. Wish I would have read the thread first. I wrongly changed the filter as I have always done in the past with other vehicles...
PS- make you get the right size. They have 2 clips for 2 different diameters. Make sure you know your build date. You can find it on your cert label on the driver's b-piller...

Reason: added info
I just went to the dealer yesterday and their system said these part #s are so new they didnt even have them listed yet in the system. I picked up the 3/8 and it is a kit with 2 clips and instructions. The clips are a hot pink color too.
I will call them tomorrow. Maybe now I can justify to the wife my passion for totally messing up whatever part I change the first time on our vehicles.
I had a difficult time location these at all five of my local dealerships (including the one I purchsed the truck from). I finally found a dealer about two hours away that new exactly what I was needing... They will ship them to you...maybe the moderators wont get me for this since these can't be purchased readily through any of our sponsors...
I have fuel filter set up just like this.
It was so easy that I screwed up and wrecked one of the blue inserts.
Anyone know if the blue pieces can be bought and replaced?
Appreciate it if so .
THANKS
Anyone have any knowledge of where I might be able to get another blue clip or insert like shown above??
I have been searching online catalogs and there are so many varieties I been struggling.
Hate the thought of leaving the one I tore up in there.
It is not leaking since I replaced the filter, but I know how my luck is...
Hate to not be safe !!!
THANKS
Still looking and trying to find one of these inserts...
Feel like I am pressing my luck and one of these days I will hear that fuel is spraying when it fails...
Been search all the online sources and called local dealer.
Sure would appreciate help if anyone knows.
Thanks again!!
