Ok Im gonna be puttin some new rubber on my ride in a few weeks. Im going with Mastercraft Courser CT's. Now for my question. I have 285/75/16 on it now. I would like to bump up a size or two. What is the biggest tire that will fit, and look right on the wheel (no buldging side walls) with no lift. Please take into account mine is a F-250 it is 4x4 (offroad package) and I have leveling springs in the front and I dont care to shim the front bumper.
Well. If you were running BFG all terrains I'd say the 295/75-16 would be perfect. However, since Mastercraft doesn't offer a 295....I'd say a 305/70-16 would be your best bet. It is the equivelant of a 33x12.50 and probably is about as much as will fit without rubbing.
Yeah a a 305/70 is pretty much the same height as a 285 but a little wider. but be warned. I had a leveling kit on my 95 250 and had no tire rub until my spring bushings got worn out then started rubbing a little. You might get a little rub might not. Same with 285's
I was tire shopping online last night and I am thinking of going with the new BFG MT KM in a 255/85/16. Just as tall as my 285s without the hard turn rub. However, I like the tall and narrow look.
Hankook makes a 285/75/16 in a load range E that I would consider with new springs and bushings up front....$719/4 w/ free shipping on e-bay.
Hmmm they have changed the Mastercraft website. They only show 4 sizes in that tire now and 285 aint one of them. 265/75/16 are the biggest they show. Anywho I called arround localy and got a price of $700 for the 285's mounted balanced tax and all.
