Anyone ever use a road demon carb? I got one and I cant even get the truck to idle. I cant get to do anything but backfire through the carb. My factory two barrel works fine with an adapter. My intake is a wieand with a 4v intake. Im ready to throw it out and get something else. Ive messed with timing and everything and no luck.
Thanks, Jaret
It sounds like it is running lean. How far out did you adjust the idle mix screws? Also, check the float level, and make sure the fuel inlet filter isn't plugged.
We just had a Demon carb question on the Cleveland board.
"I need some advice as far as tuning my 650 Speed Demon Vac. Secondaries Carb. I have seen several websites that tell some about jets, power valves, accelerater pumps, etc., but I really do not understand all of it. I am clueless when it comes to carbs, but I think I can get my car to run a lot better if I can learn to tune it. If anyone could explain what you can do to tune this carb, I would appreciate it. What can be done without removing the carb from the engine? What requires removal? Is tuning a Demon the same as a Holley (what are the differences?) PLEASE help me out with any info at all. Thanks!
Chris Kelly
Maybe start here: http://www.bob2000.com/carb.htm
And, go to someplace like Barnes & Noble and see if they don't have a book or Holleys (very similar to the Demon). You'll need to understand the basic functions of a carb in order to have a good grasp of the tuning.
