I think that you will have to fab a rod extension. Wit a friends help you should be able to do it in an afternoon. Most kits come with grade 5 bolts. I would recomend upgrading to grade 8 with self locking nuts. The ones with teflon inserts.

Hope this helps.

The lift was on my truck when I bought it. I know on a 79 you have to extend. I'm not sure about your truck.

I would also recomend replacing all of the body mount bushings with polyurethane ones, grade 8 bolts is also a must.

Make shure your kit has bumper relignment brackets or fab some otherwise it will look shi$$y

Wich kit are you looking at. If it is the performance accessories kit it will probably just be bolts and blocks. The stearing on your truck might slide far enough.

The radiator shroud on my truck is cut out at the bottom to clear the fan. Another option is to run electric fans.

The drop this and this and that, and buy this, and fab this, and hopefully it'll work, but still luck like cr*p, is why I don't like body lifts, and the majarity of the people in here also.

I don't totally condem them, b/c when doing a motor swap(like a Diesel) you sometimes need the clearence between the body and the frame, but it should still be done right, will all the proper extensions and grade 8 bolts.

To answer the question, I haven't seen a kit that comes with a steering extension.... they usually just let the custom have their steering in a unsafe bind, and don't care. You can buy one seperatly, but then the reason you went with the 'cheap' body lift is getting just as expensive as a suspension lift.

X2 once you go buy and fab all the crap to do a body lift right (if there is such a thing) you could have paid for a suspension lift kit...

My perf. acc. body lift for my 1992 came with the steering extender and the bumper alignment kit as well as the fan shroud alignment kit. It was all there except the grade 8 hardware...

Don't use em, Get a suspension system lift - "safer", looks better, and you can get fresh shocks too(and springs).
