Ordering 08 F150

When is the latest that you will be able to order a 08 F150 before the 09's start rolling out?

Thanks

Before you order an '08, I would suggest that you go to a dealer with your specifications and see if they have one that is close to your needs/wants, or if they can locate one for you. With the upcoming rebates and all the '08's on the lots, I'm sure you can find what you are looking for while saving a substantial amount of $$. Just my .02............................................

I hear you on finding one on the lots..... just one little problem is that nobody has what I want...

Xlt super cab 4x4 145" wb black or silver

3.73ls
35.7 fuel tank
audiophile 6 disc
deluxe mirror package
towing package
fog lights
back up camera
skid plates
captains chairs

The last one is the kicker, on top of the audiophile and back up camera on a xlt, had my local dealer did a search for me and nothing came back within the 600 closest dealers.

Although I would be willing to get in to same truck with the equipment I have now if i could get a he** of a deal.

I'll have X-plan too..... I bought my 06 for 21,999 with a 32,000 MSRP... right now there are only 2,500 in rebates for my area.

<!-- / message --><!-- sig --> we will see... _____________

so why do want to buy that new truck, it sounds similiar to the 06 model you already have? You could just add a nice aftermarket stereo and back up camera to your current truck?

Well it first started with a letter in the mail from my local dealership saying "authorized buy back notice" that they would buy my truck back from me from the original MSRP minis any rebates which would have been about 25,000 trade in… I was like sweet deal. When I got there it turned out not be such a sweet deal as I was told the buy back price could not exceed NADA trade in which is 20,400…. but they only wanted to give me 18,200 for my truck, I was like forget it. Any way finial number out the door would have been about 14,000 financed…no why that is happen….and the sale manger I talked with did not even seemed like he wanted to make a deal happen. I could have worked a better deal with out the letter.

Plus after that I got the “I’m feeling for a new truck itch going”. With 28,000 miles I was seeing what I could work up. Also I was rear ended last year and my frame/hitch mounting points are bent causing my hitch to be angled down ¾-1” which by the dealership is “within factory spec” after having it on there frame machine, I call BS on that…and a few others things.

And with only 2500 rebates right now ford has a way to come as I saw a 2008 Sierra crew cab 1500 4x4 MSRP 35*** for 25,999 that’s 9,000 off sticker along with a 2008 1500 Dodge mega cab 4x4 “big horn edition” with 10,650 in rebates.

So I will keep working at it and see if I can get the deal like I did on my 06.

oh, you fell for one of those letters. They send that junk out all the time.

I just noticed your profile. You're only 18, already on your 3rd truck, and you want to go out and get another new $30k truck??? There is something wrong with this picture, it defies common sense. Either mommy and daddy is helping out big time, or you really like to blow your money.

As for the letter, I will know for next time they are junk

I am actually 19 (just updated my profile<!--[if gte vml 1]><v:shapetype id="_x0000_t75" coordsize="21600,21600" o:spt="75" oreferrelative="t" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" filled="f" stroked="f"> <v:stroke joinstyle="miter"/> <v:formulas> <v:f eqn="if lineDrawn pixelLineWidth 0"/> <v:f eqn="sum @0 1 0"/> <v:f eqn="sum 0 0 @1"/> <v:f eqn="prod @2 1 2"/> <v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelWidth"/> <v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelHeight"/> <v:f eqn="sum @0 0 1"/> <v:f eqn="prod @6 1 2"/> <v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelWidth"/> <v:f eqn="sum @8 21600 0"/> <v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelHeight"/> <v:f eqn="sum @10 21600 0"/> </v:formulas> <vath o:extrusionok="f" gradientshapeok="t" o:connecttype="rect"/> <o:lock v:ext="edit" aspectratio="t"/> </v:shapetype><v:shape id="_x0000_i1025" type="#_x0000_t75" alt="" style='width:15pt; height:15pt'> <v:imagedata src="file:///C<img src="http://images.ford-trucks.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Big Grin" class="inlineimg" />OCUME~1HP_OwnerLOCALS~1Tempmsohtml1\01clip_image0 01.gif" o:href="http://images.ford-trucks.com/forums/images/smilies/happy0161.gif"/> </v:shape><![endif]--><!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->)

Yes, I am on my third truck and am proud of it. Mommy and daddy don’t help me out at all, I pay all my bills myself monthly payment, insurance, gas, and what ever else that needs to be paid. I don’t see anything wrong with this picture; I work my *** off and make the money to afford a nice truck, so why not drive a nice truck? You can think of it as a 30k truck but when I bought my 06 with my 02 trade in I only paid 8k for the 06, so no I do not feel I am blowing my money.

I just posted up a week ago or so about "new car fever". Man it has gotten me several times. One thing that my financial advisor told me was that if I keep trading in trucks every 1-3 years that I will loose big time. I think he said you average about a $7k loss each time. That counts depreciation, loss on trade, and interest.

You can order a 2008 and still get the rebate. The dealer justs orders it a dealer stock and you buy it when it comes in. The one think that can happen is that the rebates can change between the time you order it and when it comes in. You will get the rebate in effect when it arrives. I ordered my 08 early December and rebates were $3000, it came in at the end of Janurary and oh yea, the rebates changed to $4000. Happy Birthday to me. On the other side, rebates can lower also. I've done this for the last three trucks I've bought.

As to the statements that your so young to be on your 3rd new truck, please allow me to give one word or so of advice. I'm 53 three years old. Bought my first new truck at the age of 38. I always kept a nive, but older vehicle until then and treated it like it was a new truck. But each vehicle I've bought including this
$40,900 Lariat and a Lexus SUV were paid for in CASH. The length of time it takes to save for a vehicle is much shorter than it takes to pay for a vehicle and financing. It just takes some disipline and patience for three or four years to get into this cycle. Hey, we all enjoy new vehicles, but you either play now and pay later OR pay now and play later. I've chosed the second and I'm enjoying my 5th year of retirement. Thanks for letting me express my views.

sorry, I didn't mean to bust on you, but 4 trucks in 3 years is a little excessive. But hey, enjoy making those payments and don't forget to save some $$$ for a rainy day.

Yea I do agree that it my be a little excessive but I dont mind the payments which are not bad to begin with and I put a set amount of money away every month for that raniy day.

Ok a couple more questions

On a lease how does it work when you trade your current truck in on a lease...does the trade in work the same as buying another truck as far as the amount they give you for your current truck?

Also Can you use X-plan on a lease?

Thanks

If you decide to lease, just make sure you understand what you are doing and all the fine print. I didn't mine renting an apartment before I bought my house but I would never rent a vehicle. I have seen too many go bad. Leasing is definitely not for me.
