I have a 77 F-100 2WD and I am not a huge fan of the IFS. Is there a axle swap kit to put in a solid front? If not, what other vehicle's axle would be the correct size to install?
Hold on......
The Front end is a I-beam front end.
If you put a solid axle up front/which is very possible, but time consuming and requires some fabing.
Then what will you do.... are you saying you want a 4wd conversion?....
Then you'll need a transfer case, new driveshafts.
I think he wants a monobeam, not twin I beam. It still is going to be a pain in the neck..... You'll have to either use parts from a 66 and older ford (and convert from drum brakes) or get creative (and open your wallet.)
Actually Masterbeav, it would have to be 64 and older, Ford introduced the TIB in 65,
And welcome Jeddi, but your best bet is to freshen up your front end with new bushing and kingpins, and tie-rods, and you will have the most DURABLE IFS ever made, for approx $300 it will drive like new.
