Youre gonna have to give us more info on your engine build, and where you expect to run in the RPM band. Every pulling truck I've ever seen ran the engine screaming like a banshee. Are you going to pull at 2500rpm or 7500rpm, or somewhere in between. What size tires are you going to use? Is it the NP435 granny 4-speed? If so, which gear are you starting out in? Do you expect to spin off the line, or ease into it without spinning?
Grunt for you may be a Performer, or it may be a victor. My engine has a 4.25 crank and a Victor, and my biggest problem on asphalt is that I spin all 4 tires effortlessly at launch.
I eas into it until I am rolling then she's flat on the floor till I spin out and stop, with the f-427 intake 4500 to 5000 seems to be the sweet spot, thats about the 175, 200' mark, tires are 245 70 16 dayton ridgeline, gear box is what came in the truck (Idon't know what is what there) if 1 st is granny low I pull in 2nd low range, 11" or 11 1/2 zoom clutch
Well with them little tires you could use a shoebox for an intake and still spin the tires!! But if your gonna stay in the 6000rpm range the Ed RPM intake would be a good choice, but if you going to run above 6000rpm I think the Ed Victor would be your ticket !
Z , of the manifolds you have listed, feeding 477 cubes, I'd stick with the Edel F-427. The offy POS can be made to run well, but it takes an awful lot of porting and some internal welding. The SD could also do well, if it were ported. Unless you have LOTS of intake manifold porting expeirence, I'd stick with the F-427. DF, on work's old 'puter
