When I replace the rear cover should I drain the front so they both would have new lube in them? Also do I need additive in it for the limited slip for the front diff?
~Gage~
I would change both at the same intervals just so you have fresh oil in both. I change both at the same time and do all my fluids at the same time that way I can keep track easily of when to change them. I may change mine too much with doing the tranny once per year and diffs and transfer case every other year. But my opinion is oil is cheap in comparison to transmissions ect.
A friend of mine has on 03 6.0 psd with 329,000 on it and all original parts except for the problem injectors which has been corrected and no problems since. He also follows the same pm schedule as I do and his has lasted well and should have many miles left in it.

From the factory SDs come with and open front diff. You only need limited slip additive if you have a limited slip diff in the axle.
I would do both Front and Rear axles as well as changing the oil in the transfer case. You might as well do it all while under there. My trucks getting the works once warmer weather arrives, including the trans.
I have been using Amsoil in my 2-strokes, air compressors and marine lower units for a while now so I plan on put Amsoil in my truck.
