hey, i just did the head gaskets on my 1964 ford f100 292 and as where before the rockers click, i think they need to be adjusted but i dont know how and i cant for the live of me find a repair manual, chilton dosent make one god knows why...can anyone tell me how i would go about adjusting the rockers.
hey there. heres a lil info you might not know. the ford 292 V-8 is a solid lifter motor that has a valve lash of .19 hot or cold. so, when the motor is running there will be a tick. It might sound like a click to some. so the lifters might be what you are hearing.....
Turn crank so exhaust valve for #1 cylinder (left front as you face motor) just starts to open...adjust the intake valve for that cylinder. Turn crank until intake valve for #1 cylinder just starts to close. Adjust exhaust valve for that cylinder.
Repeat for the other 7 cylinders.
Don't forget to remove the socket wrench when finished.
