Anyone do much of this kind of stuff and what do you have? We have a Honda Rubicon on the farm and use it almost every day. We have gone out and used it as a recreational outing and it was kind of fun - not like sledding - but still fun.
We have a honda foreman, also used it lots on the farm but now that dad sold the farm it doesnt get used much. I think I enjoy trail riding and playing in the mud just as much as I enjoy sledding!!
i traded my bikes for a quad this fall... right now it earns its keep as a plow, but i'll sure enjoy it for the recreation in the spring/summer/fall!! its a '07 suzuki eiger 400 4x4.
Only thing I have for recreation is a couple of boats right now. Quads are in the plans though. I believe i would like to look at a couple of can ams. If not then a suzi or a honda for sure.
I love going on quad outings, to me there are a ton of fun.
those can-ams are pricey but i've read good things about them. you should get one before the draggins weekend Prep... Marlon and i are still planning a little rip.
I have always loved the simplicity, reliability, and resale value of the Hondas. They have not been moving along with technology and features like the others and I wonder if they are doing this on purpose to keep things simple or just dropping behind the others who have been a bit hungrier?
honda's are still a top notch bike and the more expensive models have just as many bells and whistles as everything else. they're definately the bike to get if you're looking for resale value. Schraders, where i bought my suzy, told me that the top 3, yamaha, suzy, and honda are so close in performance and reliability that its basically the resale value that sells one over the other.

Not really. The Rincon is the top dog at honda. It does not have a low range to the transmission. The dealers all say that the three speed auto transmission isnt good for pulling stuff - not enough reduction. The Rubicon (I think its called the Canadian Trail or something like that) is the second biggest. It doesnt have independant suspension. Neither of these models has the 'full fwd lock' feature that most of the other big guns do.
oh ok... guess i didn't pay close enough attention to the bigger bikes. i know that pound for pound, dollar for dollar, the suzy i bought was much better equipped than a equivalent honda.
Hey Sherm you should ask the guy you bought your quad from what he thinks of the can ams. I know very little about them except the fact that they are supposed to be a little better in performance then anything, supposed to be reliable, and they are definatly expensive!
I dont know any of that stuff for sure though, jsut from what Ive heard, i have no idea if its true or not.
well... the dealer i deal with don't sell them, but Rick is very honest when it comes to product talk whether or not they support them. they sell honda, yamaha, and suzuki, but i can ask the next time i'm there.
Sure, I dont mind hearing some biased opion's too. I mean I cant see him saying to go buy one, but im curious about teh bad things he would say so a guy wouldnt buy them!
