i'll try to remember. i'll tell you what, i was a die hard yammy guy, but this suzuki is impressing me. i've read real good things about the can-ams and the only thing that would turn me off one is the price. they are an easy 1-1500 more than the competition. if the performance and reliability matches that then fine...
The can ams are supposed to be the fastest in their displacement classes. I have heard that the 650 is as strong as anone else's 800. The only weakness was some frame issues but I always wonder what some people do with these bikes?
I am not sure what we would get next - either Honda or Yamaha.
I have a friend that was at some quad drags last summer and the Can-am Outlander 800, cleaned up. The Yamaha raptor and Honda 450r couldn't pass it. That is impressive for a 4X4 non racing quad! I have been thinking of getting one(if my wife would let me), only because I'm losing interest in snowmobiling with the lack of snow here lately, but love the arm jerking acceleration! Then on the other hand our two Honda's we have had in the past 21 years have never been back to the shop for repairs!
there's no replacement for displacement. a friend of a friend has the 500 outlander max or something like that, the 2 seater version. its a 500 twin that has a sweet sound to it and lots of power too. i imagine the 800 would be quite insane!!
Im not a artic cat guy either. From what I know they are supposed to be pretty good though, have lots of power and whatnot. They arent a race machine, just like a normal 4x4 quad. No idea if they are air cooled, im guessing liquid though.
They are making more small engines diesel now a days. I seen a gy can even get a diesel engine at princess auto for a fairly cheap price.

I seen the PA small diesel engine too. It`s seems funny to see a little 7-8 hp air cooled diesel engine for the first time.
I think the big advantage would be trouble free maintance rather than fuel economy on that small an engine.
