all of my IC fittings had tons of oily dirt around them. I have not done the CCV mod yet..... some were very loose requiring little effort to tighten them. got all 6 tight. i was wondering now that they are tight, and improving my boost, should i be able to feel it? i dont have gauges, yet, to "see" the improvement so i was hoping for a "feeling" as i drove it. It felt like it had better pickup, but that may have been my wishfull thinking.
Actually, you can feel boost when it builds. When you start, the truck will start to pull, if the tranny is working properly, there is a linear feel to it as it pulls harder and harder until you hit either the defuel point or the tuning is not up to providing anymore. This acceleration is different than non full throttle where it just picks up speed as you go.
Ok here you go run truck up to about 2200 rpm holding steady, this is in a automatic that is, when it get's to third gear really get on it, you will feel that boost and power!
I think it's more noticeable with a chip or tuner. I like to start off from a stop in stock, then flip the DP to 80E or 120R. The boost instantly shoots up and you get put back in your seat. That alone has convinced some buddies of mine to go to DP.
should be able to feel it even stock
take off in second gear with automatic at full throttle
at about 1500 you should hear turbo spooling and feel it start to pull harder

Since your fittings were loose...you may want to check inside of your rubber ic pipes to see if your turbo has been "dusted". this is when dirt is sucked into the engine through the turbo...not good. Also check the blades on the turbo while you have the pipes off. Just a thought.
