Yes I have thought of something like that but if I were to do that I would use my 1953 F250, since it is a 3/4ton

Thanks for the thought of getting me to drive my stock 49 Mercury in winter and salt, but ya....NO!

Oh no, I want to keep it (If thats the one I get) as a 2 whel drive with a modern engine, not sure which one yet.

Its gonna be a cool daily driver that I can drive anywhere type deal. If I had two of them, and a 4x4 truck i didnt care for much, I would consider doing a body swap for a cool 4x4 winter ride.

The 93 is just at the point where I either fix it, it really isn't that bad but there is rust on every piece of body metal, motor at MINIMIUM needs majior tune up and re gasket every gasket. I know it uses oil but it does not smoke at all so that means its just the gaskets I dunno, but being a Windsor I don't really care lol.
OR
Move on, use it for donor parts and/or sell it.

And it will be a cold day in hell before any pre 1960 truck of mine sees another winter full of usage. (not saying it couldn't be done) Both for trucks safety and my comfort.

For 1 there is NO weight in the rear end of a pre- 1956 stepside. I have gotten stuck on a patch of ice with less then 4 inches of snow with my 1958 IH.
2 The grooves in the fenders, wow a beautiful home for salt, I mean heaven

Farm trucks before the mid fifties early sixties never really saw a winter full of driving. Rural roads got plugged and got Plugged my dad in the 50's road a horse drawn sleigh to school in winter like everyone else. Everything pretty much got parked. Farm vehichle wise.
