i recently put an oil cooler in my truck. a month later i had oil goop gushin outa my degas bottle i put a post on bout that.. i just paid 2997. to get the cooler replaced again they furnished a new radiator and i had to buy a new turbo. i have only driven my truck 400 miles since i got it back, now i know its impossible for them to get all the oil outa the system but it is seeping the same oil/ coolant mixture out of the cap. again there is no coolant in the oil only oil in the coolant.... y the same problem so soon??? i just cant win they said they pressure tested it to check for gasket seepage im lost with it and kinda frustrated cause now after this 3000 repair plus the original 1100 i spent doin the egr and oil cooler myself its still not right any ideas anyone???
i did the first repair myself and no it didnt need flushing the first time i changed it myself because my cooling fan would run all the time they put it on the comp and said my engine oil temp was like 326(suppose to have been plugged up internally) . being as i did it myself there was no labor warranty when the one i put in failed i was driving down the interstat in penn. pulling a trailer and it gave no indication of a problem till the turbo started squelling LOUD when i opened the hood i found oil/coolant everywhere!!! they told me it had shaft play and needed replaced and the only way they were warranty this new repair was if it was done right.
Sounds like a load of horse crap. I'm not so sure these guys know what they're doin. It sounds like a gasket problem. Get another pressure test done at another facility.
ok some of it sounds right, if you had high oil temps from the oil cooler being plugged that would certainly take out your turbo becase when the cooler was plugged it shorted the supply of oil to the turbo. Now where did the oil and antifreez come from the last time it broke down? Id say your seeing alot of residuel oil in the motor from the first time you had a bad oil cooler. if you havent had it flushed you should, theres alot of places that oil could be caught and needs to get flushed out. Is the coolant res actually puking? or are you just seeing the white res and oil around the cap?
yeah its actually pushing oil and coolant blended out of the cap. but if it was a head gasket problem there would be some kind of signs of the coolant in the oil correct? the oil stick has pure oil the res. is pushing out the mixture. yeah they flused it when they did the 2nd cooler the other day i just got it back the night the tornadoes came thru tenn. it was done by the commercial truck shop in nashville called mid tenn ford. it doesnt seem to have the power it should either though but it never was weak till this happen.
i have nevere put a programmer on my truck because my brother had nothing but problems out of his truck after he did. yes i noticed it doin it again after i pulled an 8000k trailer but only out of the shop for like 200 miles now. it has no kind of mods at all except no cat no muffler dual exahust. but its been like that for like 150k miles 232000 on it now.
