Reading thru this thread tells me it's been a while since I did my auto hubs.
I didn't even remember about the 3 washers and c-clip problems I had til I saw it here.
Right after I bought my 96 4X4, I did this conversion, Only other thing was, I HAD to have the conversion kit for mine, since the single spindle nut inside, could/would back off the wheel bearings and cause internal damage.
Has anyone else had to use this in their auto to manual hub conversion ??
That normally takes the price up about another 80 bucks needing to have both.
baffledinpa.........you need to look back to post #11 for this thread; this is basically the explanation i gave to this other person who was doing this change-over as you are asking of doing also.........bummer, yes i know, you WILL have to have this "Spindle Nut Conversion Kit" to change over to the WARN Manual Hub's = IF = you are changing over from a " 3_screw cap " type of an stock Auto_hubs . . . . .
......I HAVE already done this change over for my vehicle in my "sig's" and know for a fact of this information.......{ also have got some pictures/diagrams for showing of the "right" content's used when assembling the WARN Manual Hub's for the change over, in my Gallery_album's in my "Sig"....}

Browsing the pics in your gallery brings back memories of doing this.
At first I figured it would be a major pain to do but it turned out much easier than I thought.
My first set of manual hubs were the Warn standard manual hubs. I bought premium hubs a year later after the right manual hub failed due to a defect. Warn even offered me a new set but I just got the premium ones at a discount.
They stand behind their products.
Mr charles, yes the 96 4x4 hub change-out project was completed next morning. Tested 4-wheel drive successful. The decision the convert to manuals was actually due to a needed rotor/brake job. Figured to swap while we had the hubs disassembled. Brakes worked afterward and no ABS light too. All good. Thanks again.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!....for posting the details about this conversion. While starting on it myself, I found a great deal of contradiction in Warn's instructions and you clarified the install completely. You saved my day!

First of all I would like to commend you for doing a search first before posting a question about your hubs. I say this because this topic has been covered many times, so the information is out there.
Secondly, I would like to welcome you to FTE.
We hope you enjoy this site and are able to pass on any knowledge you have to the rest of us.
Great work, for you doing a search before posting your first post!
Thanks for the warm welcome. Not only was the hub conversion worthwhile, the inner bearings on both sides had pock marks. I also did a full brake job including rotors while in there.
This forum is great! I can't wait to "give back to the community" as I get more involved.
