Could someone confirm if the mounts and perches on a 77 460(F-350)will bolt into a 1980(F-350) that came with a 400? There appears to be holes in the frame accordingly but it would be nice to have the low down to minimize profanities during the process, I realize this might be a redundant topic but if any brothers have some accurate insight into this swap I assure you I will respond to any and all posts that I may add some insight no matter how trivial.
Glenn.
The 460 mounts and perches for an 80+ truck are totally different from pre-80 stuff. The 460 perches are different then the 400 perches on an 80 as well. Take a look at:

This is a list of parts I have tracked down for the 77 460 C6 into 1980 400 4sp swap, please let me know if any or all of these parts will not work.
MOUNTS- 1988 F-350 $20.00 pr (still need perches what years will work ?)
OIL PAN- 1988 F-350 $10.00 (will I need to change p\u tube ?)
TILT COLUMN- 1980 XLT $50.00
I am still unsure reguarding trans x member and driveshaft lenght and spline ,will find out soon enough.
Thanks G-Man
Not sure about what year perch will interchange. But for a lot less headache and a little more money I would go with the L&L conversion. As for the tranny x member I went with c6 to c6 and it was the same all I had to change was the trans yoke, drive shaft was the same length. This is all on a 2 wheel drive I assume. Hope this will help you a little bit, anyway good luck
