I'd go with Thornbirds...While they're not very good on road, and even worse off, and don't wear very well. They look pretty cool...

Hankook Dynapro MT come in an E rating. They cost less than the BFG's.

i put a set of 35 - 12.50 x 16 trxus m/t's on my 2003 F350 SRW 4x4 3 months ago... couldn't be happier. i researched for a long time what i would replace my wrangler mt/r's with and these were my choice. they're dirt cheap compared with the competition, discount tire had NO problems balancing, mounting, or any of that... operator error accounts for 90% of people's complaints ya know... they are EXTREMELY quiet... i mean it totally baffles me how quiet mine are, they're almost like regular all season tires... no vibration, bounce, buck n chuck, none of that, very nice riding and very supple for what they are. 5 days after i put them on i drove them in deep mud snow mix and performance was OUTSTANDING. before they hit that, they were on icy roads for a good 40 miles and traction was also outstanding... the extra siping in the tread makes a world of difference on ice and wet pavement. there's no clogging of the tread, they self clean really well, and they dig like a beast. i've had loads ranging from maxed out payload in the bed, to a 6000lb bumper pull trailer (hauled for 1300 miles), and a 12000lb 5th wheel camper... my tires performed extremely well... much better than any other tire i've ever used. fyi the goodyear wrangler mt/r's were MISERABLE from the time they were mounted til the time they came off... all they do well is look good. i've had no trouble whatsoever with them to date... no balance issues, wobble, bounce, defects, or anything of the sort... treadwear so far has been very good. i'm very happy with mine and will buy another set when these are toast. also fyi... you can get these dirt cheap if you have a discount tire in your area... go to www.tirepackage.com and find the trxus in the size you want because they are wayyy cheap, and print the page with the price... take it to discount and they will match it. also tirepackage.com charges 89.95 to ship a set, but discount tire only charged me 40.00 shipping plus the tires at $213.00 each.

Not sure about the Dynapro M/T's but, I have mounted a couple sets of A/T's for customers, and they have to have the cheeziest sidewalls I have ever seen in a truck tire. They are seriously flimsier, then the tires on my VW jetta.

I currently have a set of Procomp Xterrain 305's for the summer, and I couldn't be happier. They grip really well on and off road, and handle well also. The only issue is that they are a bit on the pricey side. Did get them in snow once and I was not too impressed.

I still run my stock generals in the winter, and they do half decent in snow, but suck everywhere else, I was going to try the truxus MT in the snow next year because I want an aggressive tread, that doesn't cost a lot of $$$, but from the reviews I have seen here I may have to look elsewhere.
Another tire I'm going to look into is the Maxxis Buckshot mudder. I use Maxxis tires on my ATV with excellent results so I hope their truck tires are just as good.

I have the 38x17 Bias Ground Hawgs on my 2000 F-250 Superduty Crew Cab 4x4.
Having worked in a tire shop in my younger years. I wasn't surprised that an agressive tire like the Ground Hawg would take more weights to get a good balance. My problem was finding a tire shop that new how to mount and balance large off road tires.
I went to several shops, PEP BOYS, JUST TIRES,,, and nobody would mount them. Then I went to this Mexican tire shop. The mexican guy did them by hand for $100.00 no balance.
The guys at Tucker Tire in Covina CA. did a good job at balancing. Real Pros! No problems at highway speeds. I should have had them do the mounting. This truck is driven daily.
Now I am thinking of going to the 40inch Ground Hawg and the guys at Tucker Tire said I'd have to go some place else to get them mounted and balanced.
I think I try a tire shop that does Big Rig and industrial tires!

I'm on my second set. I run 35x12.50R16's, E load rating. Love the tires, but, like all larger tires, balancing can be problematic.
