Well today after I got done getting my new job lined out at a new car dealership. Since I quit the Lithia I worked at (what a joke of a company) I went to the local Ford dealer and had them install the new CPS. I have to say that as I pulled away from the dealer to get onto the street. My truck seemed to pull a lot harder then it ever did before and seems to be running better then before with the black CPS has anyone else experienced this with the new CPS or is just me?
I dropped mine off last night. We will see what happens. I fell a little lucky, one of the guys working on my truck use to work for me. I know he won't sell me a line of *#@!. Said he was just going to replace it with a new gray one. He also knows all the mods on the truck. Look foward to seeing what happens. Will get back to you. Alan

Sorry to hijack.....
Lithia took over the dealership I used to work at (kicked **** before) and turned it upside down trying to bring "big dealer politics" into a small town. The very low employee turnover rate (like almost NONE) from the 14 years previous all of a sudden turned into a revolving door. As soon as you'd get used to one General Manager, they'd kick him out because he didn't make the location enough money every month. Everyone got a number and the "all store meetings" became a "you're all replaceable" rally.
Rant off.......
Anyways, glad you felt a difference with your new sensor.
Well I went to pick up my truck today and after 10 min of trying to start it (needs glow plugs). I noticed the idle was higher and the repsonce much quicker. But did not drive it . The head diesel mac said that he would put the new glow plugs in that I had for 100 bucks. I thought that was a good deal so I left it there. Will pick it up tomorrow.I'm looking foward to seeing what it is like. I asked the guys there what a new gray cps sold for and they said about 35 bucks . cheaper then the new black one in the glove box. Alan

If you have your receipt for the one in the glove box, you could get re-imbursed.. I had already replaced mine when the recall came out. I put the old one back in, had them replace it with a new one, and got re-imbursed for the money I had spent on my replacement...
I installed my grey one a couple weeks ago, and I can't say it performs any better once started. But the truck does seem to fire right up a bit better, after it's running it's business as usual. I haven't heard of any of the grey ones failing yet, but I've got a spare in the truck just to be safe
Ya I dont miss Lithia one bit. One thing I will say is they started me out at a high hourly rate. Even though Im a flat rate mechanic and the new dealer started me out at that same High rate but hourly. I never made any money at Lithia because no one ever wanted to bring there cars there. As far as the Gray CPS I personally think my truck runs stronger with it in there the more I drive it. I figured it was free and how often dose Ford give you something FREE! LOL so I took it.
