Getting injectors tested planing on changing the bad one or ones by myself any thing i need to know before i start plan on leaving the plugs in the end of the head and just pull the injector out and glow plug then suck out the oil and fuel that falls into the cyclinder. oil up the o rings and slip the new injector back in. torque it to specs sothing in inch pounds of torque.
thats it, you should be all set, just make sure you know which ones are bad , and make sure all of them have new o-rings....
replace glow plugs while you there, and check UVCH harness. you can pull the gp's and just use braker bar to crank it over to get fuel and oil out of the cylinder. after you install the injector in. that will start building the preasure to help you start the truck later on...
there is really no need to worry about oil and fuel that falls into the cyclinder.it will burn off!just use a small pry bar to pry the injector(straight)out!
Basic rundown of when i installed 160cc singles into the 95 dump truck- Remove the VC and the harness. Remove injectors beginning at the front, and then once they are all out, go back and remove the GPs, if you have new ones now's a great time to unwrap them. Then go start the other side, if you let the oil drain into the cylinders for a few minutes it will be less oil that has to come out of the GP holes in the end. Once all the injectors are out, use an oil extractor (i have a steel gallon can with a vacuum pump on it that sucks out oil very well, with a small plastic tube that fits down in the injector cup hole), suck out all the oil you possibly can. Lube up injector o-rings very well, some dunk the entire thing in oil but that's overkill. Grease the copper washer on the end so it stays put. After checking all 8 removed injectors to see they all have copper washers on the end, reinstall them, leaving the glow plugs out. Install valve covers loosely, crank engine with the starter for 3 seconds. Now remove the valve covers, install GPs, the harnesses and youre just about done.

Actually you have to clear the cylinders or the engine will hydrolock.
Always remove the glow plugs from the cylinders that you did the injectors in and cycle the starter to make sure that you blow the last bit of oil out.
Hydrolock is nothing to mess with, you can break ring lands, head gaskets, bend rods, etc if there is just enough oil in the cylinders for the crankshaft to come up to the last 5 degrees of revolution and then it locks. Oil will not compress so SOMETHING WILL GIVE if you force the crankshaft "over the hump". The pressures will be immense, way more than the components were designed to carry.
Injectors are torqued to 120 inch pounds.
Retorque all of the ones that you do not remove.
Also retorque the rocker arm pedastals to 20 foot pounds. You will find quite a few that are not quite tight.

do we really think that is an issue? theres very little oil lost when u pull a glow plug?

I drained most of the oil out with my vaccula, Then i just turned the crank with a breaker bar to make sure it was all good. dont forget to buikd up oil pressure prior to initial startup.
If you pull an injector enough oil will fall into the cylinder to lock the engine if the oil is not removed.
This is a fact. Even, after you try to remove all the oil you can with a sucker-outer machine. I installed the glow plugs and injectors back in, turned it over with a breaker bar/24mm socket and it came on a hard spot, backed it off a little, then removed the glow plugs and did it like i should have anyway. I would have broken something if i tried to use the starter.
