I have an Arctic start. Will not allow me to auto start the truck when it is below -40C (good reason not to go to work I guess). I have had the Astro start unit before on a couple of trucks and I like those better ($650 installed is what I paid).
Make sure that hey program the cold temp start so that if you choose the truck will run for a few minutes when the temp is below -20C in the cab. Or the auto start mode where it will automatically start for a few minutes every 3 hrs. Have them link the low level shut down to the alternator rather than the oil pressure or you will get false readings and the truck will shout down immediately after start if you don't use light enough oil below -25C. Mine does this and start stops between 4-6 times before it will stay running when it is that cold outside.
I had the Ford starter in when I first got it and it was a total POS only started when you could see the truck and within 300 feet not 3000 like they claim. I had them pull it out and got credited for that amount.
