See...this is one thing that has always bugged me. If you buy a gallon of milk, motor oil, or paint in Canada it's 3.78l.. not 4.54l. All our products are tied to the US market so why would anybody use anything but the US gallon when calculating gas milage.. I don't.

look up gallon in wikipedia I think you'll find it interesting...BTW milk where I am is 4l, oil can come in anything from 3.8,4,4.54l jugs etc probly all desighned to confuse the hell out of the consumer....but if you think about it the imp. gal is 10lbs of water so that actually makes sense
