2007 sport trac trans????

I have a 2007 sport trac 4.0 4x4, when I get on he brakes harder than a normal stop it seems to shift itself into neutral so when I go to take of again after the stop the engine will rev up and than the trans kicks into gear, very similar to a neutral drop, this only happens once in a while, it seems to be brought on by a hard brake only, Thanks

It's probably low on trans fluid. On a hard brake the fluid is sloshing away from the pickup tube.

I checked the fluid level a few days ago by taking out the drain plug centre level plug (the torx mini plug) with the truck warm/running in park and some fluid did start to run out, but maybe what I saw is what was in the pipe part of the plug, I should have taken the plug out completely, I will take the plug right out tonight and give it a better chance to leak out, what you say makes sense as I had to top up the trans fluid after we did some work on the cooler lines, Thanks, will keep you posted as to how this works out.
