2007 Sport Trac whine

2007 sport trac w/ V8 4.6L

While driving down the road a slight whine is heard. Almost from the right rear but not sure. I shut the truck off at 30 mph in neutral and still have a whine. My tires are worn well below spec and I am starting to think the "whine" is a tire noise. My low air light was on and I aired them up to spec and the whine seemed louder today on the highway. I love this truck, but if its gonna turn into a money pit. DOWN THE ROAD IT GOES.

Also notice my transfer case appears to be wet with oil and can not see where it is coming from.

Has anyone had any issues with these transmissions?

I have had the vehicle a year.

The first thing I would do is to rotate the tires and see if the whine moves.
Is the fluid on your transfer case engine oil, transmission fluid or transfer case fluid? Check all your fluids and make sure they are up.
How many miles on your vehicle?
I have an 09 Exploder 4x4 with 65K miles and had to replace both front hubs and one rear wheel bearing and overhaul the front diff.

98k miles. I have new tires. Still noisy. Now I think I narrowed it down to the right rear. I wanna say wheel bearing. I have to throw it on thel ift next week to find out. BUT now, my Ck Eng. Light is on. Missfires. I didnt read the code. But I bet I am due for plugs.

Had the same noise on 05 Explorer with 115k miles, put hub assembly on right front and bearings in right rear. All is quiet (for now). Knock on wood.
