i here all this stuff on this site about 200 000k is the most common for it that 300's haveing a long life soo how many miles have you had on your 300 cause 200 000k is nothin mine only has 67 000 origanall but ive seen past 600 000 before
my truck has an estimated 308,xxx miles on it. the block has been swapped with a carbed blocked but supposedly only had 60,000 miles on it when the P.O. bought it. but he also had the original head rebuilt before he put all the EFI stuff back on to it, and put in a new oil pump. Once i fixed his rats nests of wires and vacuum lines, it came out running like brand new!
I had 317000 on my 90 F150 and Never had an engine cover off. Origanl cluch and Trans. Used 3/4 quart of oil between every 5000 to 6000 oil change.
And then I totaled it (Not My fault). Bought the truck back from thr Ins Co and striped it, useing the Trans in my 87 as it (The 87) had the grany gear trans.
I wish we could get 200000k miles on them! I've got 330k miles on mine and it runs like a champ. I've never HAD to do anything to it, but I replaced the oilpan gasket because it leaked pretty badly and I put timing gears in it for peace of mind. It still lets me know I'm close to an oil change by marking its territory, but I can live with a drop or two now and then.
At work we have a 85 f150 manual trans with just over 400,000 on it.....it has seen nothing but abuse since 1985 and keeps on going! the only thing that has been done is a coulpe tir rod ends and such and one carb rebuild
82,465 miles and had to pull it out. Previous owner used it for a First Responders/Ambulance truck. Had a warped head, blown rear main, fried clutch, chattered flywheel, and boiling water in three cylinders and I still ate dodges for breakfast with it. The 88 had 226,000 miles on it when I sold it and it had never been touched. Working on trying to buy it back.
250,205 on an 85. A recent oil change resulted in the pan and valve cover gaskets being replaced due to leakage, but the engine, transmission, and clutch are original.
Mine has about 75000 but unfortunately it is just about done. It started blowing oil out the dipstick tube the other day. I just bought it last summer at a farm auction and all I know about it is that it was parked for 4 or 5 years and before that was used for errands and short trips to the fields.
