You can use an audio integrator that gets inserted in the cassette door will plug into the MP3 player.

Or an FM transmitter (I'm pretty sure that's what it's called)...

Maybe what thorseshoeing posted, an FM transmitter thing.

This may get a bit complicated, just to use the MP3.

Other than that, I have no idea on how to make it work.

I'm getting one for my Zune...You can get them really cheap off Ebay., but I don't know how good they would be. I'm going with the OEM one.

I believe the Mp3 Player is connected to a simple FM transmitter, then the truck stereo is set to pick up the signal from the transmitter, at a predetermined frequency.

Here is a home unit.

Tim, Bf250 and anyone else considering the FM transmitter for your mp3, pull out about $70 and wipe your rear end with it and drop in the garbage. That would amount to the same thing if you get the fm transmitter. These things do not work well at all, there isn't a unit out there that has a strong enough signal to play clearly through the speakers.

essentially the Fm transmitter is like going to the drive-in, a lot of the drive-in's before they were shut down went to having a small transmitting station to broadcast the sound to their customers who could then listen to the movie over their car stereo, I am not sure as to the strength of the broadcast signal but it was usually enough to cover the drive-in area.

A coworker and I both had the wireless Fm transmitter for the Microsoft Zune. I had showed him the bad reviews last year after he got his Zune. Well we both took the bad reviews with a grain of salt. Lets just say it was a good thing we bought it at the store and was able to get our money back.

Not sure what to suggest that you use but if anything get it somewhere where you can return it. I personally do not keep a factory radio in my truck long enough for it lose the shine from the buttons. Most aftermarket radios now either come with a rear auxillary input, a front input jack or a means of having a cabeled input into the cd changer plug so that you can play a Ipod or mp3 player.

Hope this helps.

The one I bought at Target was under $30. It plugs into the cigarette lighter and uses any one of seven FM frequencies (87.7-88.9 MHz) to transmit a signal to your car radio. As long as you pick a station that isn't used in your area you should get quality that is as good as the quality of your MP3 files. I am in Boston - an area that is saturated with radio stations and it always works fine. The MP3 files are stored on a USB thumb drive

Mine also has a standard jack that can be used as an input from an MP3 player. I only use the USB card but I would assume the jack input would work as well.

Thirty bucks beats the hell out of replacing three perfectly good (and by that I mean they work fine) units in each of my vehicles.

I was gonna stay away from Apple but then in the end i bought one only because they got a lot of space. I also bought one because since they are really popular there is a ton of accessories for them. But there definatley is better mp3 players besides ipod.
