Old records and magazines

I have a pretty good (large) collection of car mags and records. For some of you youngun's a record is a black vinyl disk that you put on a record player. The record player uses a needle to read the groves and make music. .
Now the problem is what to do with my treasured stuff. I still have a player (seldom use it) and I'm still kicking myself for chucking 10 years or so of Hot rod, easy riders, carcraft and various other mags.
We need a bigger house but I hate paying taxes and would rather spend my money on VEHICLES.
So what should I do???????????????????

No matter what, I'll always find a place to keep my 78's, 45's and 33's. I have some in the living room, our bedroom closet and in the spare room. I don't play them that often either, except after we've worn out the last ones I recorded on cassette and it's time to record some new ones. Talk about making tapes of great variety and fantastic music, nothing beats the old records.

I have everyting from big band, classical, disco, war-time albums, all types of rock & roll, classic country and modern country (at least through the time of when they stopped making LP's). Some of my favorites are Merle, Hank Sr., Hank Jr., Elvis, Credence, Joe Walsh, Black Sabbath, Bing Crosby and Lynard Skynard.

I just don't care for what's considered new county music. I don't know what it is, but it sure ain't country!!!

Hey there GORSTEP, I'm 25 years old, and I have Pink Floyd's "The Wall" on 8-Track. Even got an 8-Track player in my bedroom back home. Does that make me a youngin' or a golden oldie? I don't think anything beats the sound of a classic rock tune on a 33 LP. Got a bunch of classics on those also.

Hey Carlene thas some ary from big band to Sabbath. I don't admit to many that I listen to much other than Heavy Metal or hard rock. I guess the truth is that alot of stuff I like from when I was Kid was top 40 then. Most top 40 and twwang tunes now don't do much for me.
Bruin, I wish I had an 8track player that worked I've got some KISS and OLD Nazareth on 8 track.
As far as being an oldy or a youngun? I might be off a bit. I know people at work whos kids have no Idea what a record is let alone an 8track. I still remeber the sound of my quadraphonic 8 track player and how the sound would go around the room. It was great!!!!!!!
Don't get that with my 50pack suround sound CD player.

I have some (2 or 3 maybe more?) 78 RPM Elvis records that are in excellent shape. How much do you think they are worth? I guess it would depend on how much of an Elvis fan you are. There are no visible scratches on them and I have never played them. I just wrapped them up real good and put them in storage about 19 years ago !! Elvis rocks

Transfer the LPs to CD-ROM and use a scanner to scan all the good articles. Then when you have everything digitized, share them with your friends on the old FTE site.

Uhh.....sure.....if I could I would, but then I'd have to get a scanner. And how in the world would I digitize this stuff?????????
It would be easier and SAFER than using Morpheus.

El-Cassette is a SONY invention.
There were very few made and did not go over very well.

What Sony did was take the reel to reel size tape and put it in a cassette style format.

When I get my Web cam woking again,I'll post a photo od the tapes it uses.
