351 Help?

Will a 351w fit properly on the stands of a 351M? I have a 1976 f150 4x4 with a very weak 351M/400M and a 4spd MT. I was thinking that other than changing the bell it should be a very quick swap.

ive heard they should work but not sure on that. try a search in the engine swap forum. you might also look for some 2wd 302 mounts, since the 351w is the same depth

351m is a big block bell housing pattern and its mounts are more closely like the 460.
with a 351w you have a small block trans and mounts which are similar to the 302. you might get away with the trans by changing the bell but the mounts im sure would need modification.

On 2 wheel drive trucks they are the same perches as 302 trucks, but i'm not sure on the 4x4. I would think so.
