429 5-speed??

Does anybody know what (if any) 5-speed and bell-housing I can use? It's a '72 F-250 4x4 w/'71 429 Thunder-jet. Someone said out of a school bus, What about out of a newer (87-97) Ford truck? P.S. It has divorced T-case, so I can have the middle drive-shaft shortened or lengthened. Thanks, John

429 5-speed??

you could use a clark five speed but parts are hard to find and costly at that. Advanced adapters makes a bell for the NV 4500 i think but since you have a mechanical linkage you will have to fabricater a devise for going from mechanical to hydrolic. The ZF 5 speed is a good choice but you will have to do some floor chopping and i cant remember if the tower is further forward or back than a NP 435. Hope this helps a little.

Dusty
