Caliper piston sticking

I’m trying to figure out how to handle a caliper piston sticking on my 2001 F350. I changed the brake pad about 4 months ago and it was worn at an angle. The piston stopped popping but now it’s doing it again. Apparently the piston is sticking and popping out when I apply the brakes. I hear a dull pop and feel it in the brake. What’s the best way to fix this...should I get a whole caliper or try to fix the piston?

I know that the piston is sealed with a rubber boot, i don't think it would be good to go in and try to fix it. It could be done, however i think getting a new caliper is probably the sure-fire way to fix it.

they can be rebuilt, but I've found on most vehicles a replacemrnt is cheaper than a rebuild kit

The days of honeing out the piston and re-saeling calibers is long gone.China makes tons of these things for US now. .So they are cheap enough to just replace.Instead of repair.I think I still have my brake hone collecting dust.

Your "worn at an angle" sounds like you might have a slide pin problem??

Check this out on Guzzle's site.

Slide pin

How do I tell the difference? Will a piston issue and a slide pin issue have the same effect?
