I traded my 2000 V-10 Ex Ltd 4x2 for a 2003 7.3L Ex Ltd 4x4 with 57K miles. I got a good, not great, deal, but this truck needs absolutely nothing. It's a step up from my 2000 in every way. The one thing I would like is trailer towing mirrors but the regular ones seem to have a reasonably wide field of view.
Pic coming in a few.
PS. Like with the 00 I intend to do most of my own service. However, the 60K service calls for a tranny and transfer case oil change, which I think I will outsource. Any idea what that should run, stand alone?

Congrats on the new ride!
How heavy do you tow? I ask only because I had Ford completely replace the trans fluid with synthetic. I tow a 9000# TT and have not had any issues so far temp wise (well I can say I have not exceeded 220 °F) and I have towed some long/steep hills (Black Hills, Big Horns, Rockies, Appalachians)...
I went to the stealership because they were having a good 'deal' on the complete swap/flush to synthetic...and my Ex was still under warranty at the time...so I figured what BETTER place to have that done to not 'void' my warranty...
Also on the mirrors...prior to changing mine to the telescoping ones...I put one of those small (1.5") round convex mirrors on the lower outside bottom edge...REALLY helped visibility when towing...
Lastly...since you don't have the telescoping mirrors it is likely you don't have a rear sway bar...seems the 'tow package' included the mirrors and sway bar on 'most' years...not all...but most...so take a look under the back of your Ex...if you tow...you will likely want that rear sway bar...Hellwig is a good aftermarket one...
I thought the sway bar was standard for this year in the 4x4? Or is this "rear stabilizer bar" something else?
Ride and Handling
Benefits to ride and handling for 2003 come from a newly standard rear stabilizer bar on 4x4 models, new shock absorbers on all models, and new front jounce bumpers on 4x4s.

Congrats again...
Joe.
I never knew that. Mine didnt come with tt mirros until i added them. Now i kno why i dont have a sway bar. That explains why it doesnt travel straight when i tow my dads boat lol
