So far no regrets here. My 7.3 has been a pretty solid engine, gets decent fuel mileage, and plenty of power.

I bought a used Ebony Black '05 SD XLT CC 5.4 5R110W 3.73 open-diff and am more than happy with it overall. I got a great deal on it but if I had my druthers I wish it was the 7.3 with a manual transmission. They're the only things I'd change. I don't have a lot of experience with the 7.3 but the whole bigger-better theory comes to play.

Later...
Brewster...

I have a 5.4 with the six speed in my f250 (2002) and as long as the spark plugs stay put I'll be very happy with the motor. More than enough power for my needs, decent gas mileage compared to the old days.

Six 7.3s
Three 6.0s
One 5.4 (F-150 Supercrew).

No regrets with any of them.

I voted 6.0 since that's what I drive the most.

6.0 here... 1 EGR cooler 3 turbos 2 fuel leaks 2 injectors changed. At 78K miles now and still lovin it... I have one of the first ones off the line.. So I expected some bugs. Just glad that almost all of this stuff was covered under warranty.
