So far this winter, I've rescued Santa Claus and a pizza delivery guy (got a free giant pizza). My dad has video of the Santa rescue. But the only proof that it was Santa was his arm waving out the window as he drove away.
here's another..... this was in front of my house... the police and city are saying in order to clear the streets of snow you could not park on the road... or else you would get towed...but my truck was already plowed in.....i almost got all the way out with no help......till a dodge diesel came!!
Looks like I need to load the plow and head west.
So far this year has been a bad year for the plow contractors here, more snow removed with salt than with plows.
Looks like I could catch up fast out there though.
They were just talking about somewhere in Oregon that has had 13'4" of snow this month alone on the Weather Channel last night, and another storm on it's way.
thats a nice truck ya got there, but whats that dent on the lower portion of the bed from?? looks like you got high centered on something... and had to get pulled out by a powerstroke perhaps
There's definitely a demand for plows right now. The company I work for is contracted through the county and state. We are running 3 graders, nine tractors and two 988 loaders on 24 hour shifts. Been doing it since Tuesday (I think. I'm so tired I can't remember when we started ). Once the snow quits and they get a handle on the main roads, we haul off the snow from the middle of the roads. There were some roads south of town that we were clearing up to 10 ft deep drifts. Right now, I have about 3' in the shaded part of my yard. We are in the midst of another storm that is supposed to dump another 9" tonight. The past couple of weekends have warmed up and melted a lot of the earlier snow, or we might have more on the ground.
Funny you mention Powerstrokes, Badluck. I was coming home today and a elderly couple got high centered in the snow berm in the middle of the road. A newer lifted ext cab super duty PSD pulled up and decided to go to the next intersection and make a u turn to pull them out. I looked at the snow mound shortcut and blasted on through it. With oncoming traffic stopped, I hooked up the strap and pulled them through to the side street as the Super Duty finally arrived from his detour. I smiled and waved as he sped away in disgust. I'm not sure if he was afraid of getting himself stuck or what. I guess the new Super Duty's can just sit there looking pretty while the IDI's get the work done.
