how common is the
glow plug harness to go bad??? i just ordered new motorcraft glow plugs and the new relay... but i want to know how common is it for the harness to go bad???

They do go out but not on a regular basis. But the glow plugs take a lot of voltage, which will over time cause the wiring harness to fail. This is one of the very few faults with our trucks.
